Here is what you have been waiting all summer for:

Hello, fellow Woodturners.   It is time to meet with your fellow woodturners at the Turnout!   The date is Saturday, August 20th, at 11:30 a.m. and as in previous years, we are at Lou Rudinski's place at Kinder Farm Park.   The address is 146 Gali Sanchez Way, Millersville, MD.  21108.    As you enter the park, turn left before the Gatehouse, then proceed past all the sports fields to the last parking lot, and look for signs to park on the lawn area behind the brick house.  Spouses/significant others are welcome.

Here is the drill:   The Club supplies hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, grilled chicken and buns.   Also, cups, plastic ware, plates and condiments.   We ask that each attendee bring either a side dish, dessert, or sodas and ice.   (enough to feed 6 - 8 people).   If your last name starts with A - G, please bring a dessert.    Last names starting with H - O should bring sodas, water, and ice, and last names starting with P - Z should bring a side dish.

We will have a table set up for Show and Tell items.   Bring your latest masterpiece, and be prepared to talk about it.   Also, President Tim Moore with also have a short meeting to talk about our upcoming schedule.

Finally, we will have the infamous Chesapeake Woodturners raffle.   Here is how it works:  Each person donates an item(s) to the raffle.   This can be a turned item, an old tool, books, wood, blanks, or anything creative.  We will place a cup next to each item, and we will sell tickets for $0.50 each.   If you want to try for a specific item or items, you put a ticket (with your name on it) in the cup.   At the end of the day, we pull one ticket from each cup, and that person wins that item.   It is a lot of fun, and most everyone goes home with something.   There is some strategy here - put more tickets in the cup to increase your odds of being chosen, or pick a cup with very few tickets that can be won with a ticket or two.

So remember, Saturday, August 20th at 11:30 a.m. at Lou's place.   Bring your food item, your Show and Tell item, your donation to the raffle, and your wallets.   Looking forward to seeing you in 10 days to trade stories with old friends.
