John Kerr - Log Loader - February 2018

These photos illustrate the concept of the log loader.

Dimensions are not critical, and should be adjusted suit your needs, although the height of the shelf should be pretty close to the height of the tailgate of your vehicle.

The example is 8’ – 0” tall, and approximately 15” wide.

The 2x4 spreaders are intended to keep the uprights straight and stable.

The ½” plywood panel is mortised and glued on all four sides to keep the assembly rigid.

Keep the panel 10” – 12” above the shelf, in the (unlikely) event that you need to reach through to push the log.

Handles are 1 ¼” dowels.
