May 18th Meeting - Mark Supik
Post date: May 12, 2019 5:14:21 PM
Our May meeting, which will be next Saturday, May 18th, will be held at Mark Supik’s shop in Baltimore. Mark is in a new location and for those of us who have not been to his new shop (or, perhaps, were never at his old shop either) this should be a special opportunity to view a commercial turning operation, see and possibly handle some unique lathes, and enjoy a completely different environment from Maryland Hall.
Below is a note from Mark and Nancy Supik about what we can look forward to.
There are also directions to his shop. NOTE that the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel is undergoing construction and subject to major traffic delays. So it is recommended that we take the alternative route over the Key Bridge that is described below. Don’t follow GPS instructions that take you through the tunnel. Also note that from either I-95N or I-97N, you go EAST on 695 to get to the Key Bridge and then North Point Boulevard.
Meeting plan:
Tour of shop and equipment.
Running a woodturning business, architectural millwork, wood turned products, millwork.
Beer Tap Museum
Woodturning Workshops
Demonstration by Mark of spindle technique and bowl technique
Directions to 1200 N. Macon St. 21205
Take 97 to the Key Bridget (695).
Proceed on 695 to North Point Blvd towards Baltimore.
Take North Point Blvd (north) (becomes Erdman Ave) to N. Macon Street.

We have about 10 spaces in our parking lot.
