Next Meeting 19 December

The Chesapeake Woodturners and the Woodturning Co-Op at Maryland Hall will meet Saturday, December 19 at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis Maryland.

The meeting will begin at 9AM with a short business report. Fellow wood turner and CW Member, Joe Kramer, will be demonstrating the art of making bowls from a board. Joe suggests that bowls from a board do not have to be boring or one dimensional. His technique will review the basic strategy of layout and cutting as well as demonstrating the techniques used to build boards from shop scrap in order to turn them into eye catching bowls. Joe will also discuss some of the inexpensive shop made jigs that aid in making bowls from boards. This is sure to be a fun demonstration with easy-to-do techniques that could create Christmas gifts for family or friends. T

here will also be a raffle drawing for several demonstration pieces already under construction for attendees to finish at home. Members and guests are welcome. Admission to this event is free.
